Articulate is proud to present WORK Austin, a day-long immersion into contemporary technique and choreography with San Fransisco based artist Kristin Damrow. Morning class will play with physicality, power, skill, and detail. Lunch time will be a round-table discussion about marketing, producing work, and surviving as an artist today. In the afternoon we will play with choreographic tools that take a closer look Kristin’s approach to character development through movement.

We are looking for a small, dedicated group of dancers who have special interests in collaboration, process-based work, and artistic curiosity. If selected, you will be given the opportunity for six months of paid rehearsals and performances, six months of weekly training with our choreographers, and a collaborative, welcoming environment.

We are looking for two emerging choreographers to create work for our second season. Your application will be reviewed by our amazing panel (read more about our panel here), and top 7 applicants will receive written feedback on their application, even if they are not selected for the program.

Esther Bramlett and Devon Adams present their works in a whole new environment, immersing audiences in site-specific extensions of their projects Terrain and Sudden Words.
Revolve Austin is an installation movement display, hosted at the Charles Johnson house September 21-22, 2018.
In this performance, we are presenting our work alongside a curated collection of local dance and performance artists, and audiences are encouraged to tour this collection as they travel through the Charles Johnson House. We will be framing and shifting our works to fit this exciting new environment.
The Shape of Sound is our full-length evening of dance, the culmination of our pilot season. We are proud to present two new works: Terrain, by Esther Bramlett, and Sudden Words, by Devon Adams.
Join us to be part of our first season and share in this wonderful process! We will have beer and wine to share, give you insight into the adventure of this first year in developing our works and the program itself, and invite you to share your written feedback.
